About INSET conferences for teachers

Our conferences for teachers are designed as part of in-service training (INSET), and are eligible for financial support from that source. We provide two types of conference. Each conference of the first type focuses on one area of philosophy, such as ethics, philosophy of religion, etc. The primary aim to is deepen philosophical understanding of the topics, although some guidance on teaching the issues is provided. The second type focuses explicitly on the question of how to teach philosophy to Year 12 and 13 students, and uses specific examples of difficult issues to illustrate this.

Our conferences have limited places, to enable greater discussion and interaction.
