Lucy Campbell
I am a philosophy graduate (BA, Kings College London(1st Class)) offering tutoring in Philosophy for A-level or first year undergraduate students. My emphasis is on developing the student's own ideas through critical discussion. This approach fosters a deeper understanding of the issues at hand, and encourages much more enthusiasm for the subject than simply being told what the problems and various attempted solutions are. I am happy to help with advice on writing essays and exam technique, as well as reading through and assessing the student's written work. I am currently undertaking an MPhil (research) degree. My special areas of interest are Philosophy of Mind/Psychology, Philosophical Logic, Metaphysics, Epistemology and Philosophy of Language/Linguistics, although I am competent in all areas of 'analytic' philosophy. I can also provide tutoring help with basic formal logic and critical thinking. My charges range from £10 - £16p/h, depending on whether or not I am required to do 'out of hours' work, such as assessing essays. Please contact me by email at lucy.p.campbell@kcl.ac.uk with the following information: what area or areas of philosophy you would like tutoring help with, how often and when you would like to be 'tutored', what you require from your tutoring - do you need a tutor to get you through exams, for help with a specific problem, just to have an opportunity to discuss philosophy, etc. - and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

I am a highly experienced, specialist online philosophy tutor to students
worldwide. My doctorate, from the University of Oxford, was judged 'high
international standard', and I bring that standard of excellence to my
teaching. I use the Oxford tutorial system, in which my students master the
skill of writing clear, well-argued philosophy essays. I am an external
examiner for the International Baccalaureate, and I have marked exams at
Oxford, where I still teach; so I am keenly aware of the avoidable mistakes
that can lose students valuable grades. I also help students apply to study
philosophy at university, and I coach students for their Oxbridge entrance
applications. I'd be delighted to receive your email alevel@philjoyce.com

B Perez-Bango
If you find Philosophy too abstract or difficult, I am offering a friendly and easy-to-follow tutorial. Philosophy is about everything: us, our relation with people and environment. In a way, we are philosophers in a small scale when we come to conclusions, sustain an argument or try to understand some complex ideas. Philosophy also provides you with essential tools needed for other academic subjects; I refer to it as the 'gym' for our reasoning. If you are interested and live in South West London you can contact me on begobango@hotmail.com

Laura Roberts
I am able to offer tuition in Philosophy, English and Drama to 'A' level. I am currently writing my PhD in Philosophy and my first degree is in Philosophy and Drama. My approach to teaching involves encouraging students to think creatively and independently about their work, as well as connecting it with the world around them. I believe this approach allows students to personally and positively engage with their work which I find always produces positive results. I am 30 years old and was born and raised in South Africa, and for the last seven years I have lived in Australia. I have also lived and worked in London for three years, as well as the States for a year. Consequently, I have extensive experience working with people of different cultures as well as a passion for philosophy which I hope to instil in the younger generation, who I believe need the skills of critical thinking now more than ever before. I am able to travel to the pupil's home and am available evenings and weekends.

Eliana Zur-Szpiro
I am available for tutoring a-level and degree level philosophy in London. I love philosophy and am rather good at it, though it wasn't always that way. I had to work hard to develop study techniques and an understanding of my subject, particularly as I have motor dyspraxia, a learning difficulty. I am therefore well equipped to share my skills and knowledge. I achieved the highest first in my year for BA in Philosophy at the University of Nottingham. While there I presented a paper in an academic conference at the University of Glasgow. I also gained a Distinction in my Masters in Political Philosophy from UCL. I am currently tutoring a student in economics and philosophy. I informally tutored two people in philosophy while at University. I also taught a course in political philosophy at a community centre. My approach is to develop with a student a set of techniques that reflect the student's personality. I think people are often capable of more than they realise because they lack confidence. If you wish to achieve your potential and/or have a lot of fun doing philosophy, get in touch! elianazurszpiro@gmail.com
