I completed a PhD in philosophy at the University of London in 2019, passing with no corrections required. My research focused upon ethics and metaethics. Prior to that, I earned a master’s degree in philosophy, gaining distinctions in all modules (i.e. metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, metaethics, political philosophy, and history of philosophy), with a very high distinction in my dissertation (a conjunction of the philosophy of religion and Bayesian probability). Given my academic background, I am well qualified to tutor A Level or undergraduate philosophy. Philosophy can be a challenging subject, but it is also an immensely rewarding one. My aim in tutoring is to demystify it — making things as clear and comprehensible as possible, and providing detailed and effective feedback. Not least, I want to make philosophy fun! Dan Beaton

I am a fully qualified teacher with over ten years teaching experience in the state and independent sixth form sector (where this includes MPW London and Hampstead Fine Arts College).
